An Evening Discussion Forum bringing
Government Officials to the People
 

September 8, 2011 — The Center for the Defense of Civil Rights & Equality, a non-profit organization committed to serving Rhode Island’s neediest communities, hosts its inaugural public forum:

Connecting with Government Leaders: A conversation about policy, politics and communities.

Scheduled for October 21, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at the Providence Career and Technical Academy Auditorium, the forum brings together students, politicians, policy makers, and dignitaries for a public discussion about Rhode Island’s future. The evening’s conversation will include learning and understanding the impact of state policies on communities, along with, students and the public having the opportunity to participate in a question and answer session with the distinguished panel.

The inaugural event features an impressive panel of dignitaries and politicians. Invited participants include: Lincoln D. Chafee, Governor of the State of Rhode Island, Angel Taveras, Providence City Mayor, Juan M. Pichardo, Rhode Island State Senator, Harold Metts, Rhode Island State Representative, Grace Diaz, Rhode Island State Representative, Jack Reed State Senator, Sheldon Whitehouse State Senator, David Cicciline State Congressman, Deborah Gist, Providence School Commissioner, Peter Kilmartin, Rhode Island Attorney General, Michael Pare, Providence Police Commissioner, and John Chartier, State Fire Marshal.

This event is supported by The Providence Career & Technical Academy, Radio El Poder 110, Latina Radio 100.3, Christian Latino Coalition, Compare Supermarket, the online national news site Latina Lista and The South & Central American Association.

 The Providence Career and Technical Academy Auditorium is located at 41 Fricker Street Providence, RI.
